1 cup pearl barley

4 cups water or vegetable broth

1 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)

2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Fresh fruits (e.g., sliced bananas, berries, or apples) for topping

Nuts or seeds (e.g., almonds, walnuts, or chia seeds) for garnish

Instructions
 

Rinse Barley: Start by rinsing the pearl barley under cold running water to remove any dust or debris. Drain well.

    Cook Barley: In a large saucepan, combine the rinsed barley and 4 cups of water or vegetable broth. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the barley is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
