Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/2 cup diced tomatoes (drained)

1/4 cup sliced black olives

1/4 cup chopped green onions

1/4 cup sour cream (for dipping)

1/4 cup salsa (for dipping)

Cooking spray

Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.

Cook the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

Add Seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning according to the package instructions, adding a splash of water if needed. Mix well and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines.

Assemble the Taco Sticks: Take a triangle of dough and spoon about 1 tablespoon of the taco meat mixture (along with a bit of diced tomatoes, olives, and green onions) onto the wider end of the triangle. Top with a sprinkle of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.

Roll the Sticks: Roll the dough from the wide end to the pointed tip, enclosing the filling completely. Place the rolled sticks seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat for all the dough triangles.

Bake: Once all are assembled, bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve: Allow the cheesy taco sticks to cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Serve warm with sour cream and salsa for dipping. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 8 sticks (serves 4)
