Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon sugar

Cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Sesame seeds & chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and sesame oil. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15-30 minutes.

Blanch the Broccoli: In a pot of boiling water, blanch the broccoli florets for about 2 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, water, and sugar until well combined. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes until it's browned (do not overcrowd; cook in batches if needed). Remove the beef and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine Ingredients: Return the beef to the skillet with the sautéed aromatics, then add the blanched broccoli. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli. Stir well to coat everything evenly and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serve: Serve the beef and broccoli hot over a bed of jasmine rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for some added flavor and crunch.
