Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

Cook the pasta: Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the fettuccine or spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.

Sauté the shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the large shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic, and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Add liquids: Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Mix in cheese and season: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, stirring until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.

Combine pasta and shrimp: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, adding the drained pasta. Toss everything together to coat the pasta and shrimp in the creamy garlic sauce.

Taste and adjust: Check the seasoning, adding more salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes to taste if desired.

Serve: Plate the creamy garlic shrimp pasta, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Enjoy your delicious meal!
