Ingredients

4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered

4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Crisp Topping:

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as pecans or almonds)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare Fruit Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the quartered strawberries and sliced peaches. Add lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Gently toss until the fruit is well coated.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the fruit mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Make the Crisp Topping: In another bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly. Add the chopped nuts for extra crunch and flavor.

Assemble the Crisp: Evenly sprinkle the crisp topping over the fruit mixture in the baking dish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

Cool and Serve: Allow the crisp to cool slightly before serving. It can be served warm or at room temperature, and is delightful with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top!
